Illinois State Police: One dead in collision on I-155 near Tremont

TREMONT – One person is dead after a traffic crash Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 155 near Tremont, according to the Illinois State Police.

The collision occurred at 3:15 p.m. near exit 22 on northbound I-155. That’s near Townline Road in Tazewell County.

It is reported to involve a car versus a truck tractor semi-trailer. Troopers are responding, and one fatality is being reported, the state police said.

“The scene is active and there no further information available at this time.  When more information is available, updates will be provided,” the state police said in an emailed statement.
