Woman facing first-degree murder charges after man found dead in Ellsworth

ELLSWORTH – A 39 year old woman stands accused of first-degree murder after a shooting in Ellsworth Wednesday morning.

Around 8 a.m. Mclean County Sheriff Deputies responded to a shooting at 302 N. E. St.

Once on the scene, Deputies found a man dead from gunshot wounds.

After a short investigation, McLean County Prosecutors charged Desiree Roberson with first-degree murder.

The name of the victim has not been released.

Illinois State Police, the McLean County Corner’s Office, and the McLean County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the homicide.
