Salvation Army of McLean County hosting annual fan drive

BLOOMINGTON – With the hot weather hitting central Illinois a local organization as hosting its annual fan drive to help keep people cool during the warm weather.

The Salvation Army of McLean County started distributing fans this week to seniors and those with a medical need.

Open distribution will be happening next week, according to development director Angie Bubon. She spoke with WJBC’s Scott Miller.

“Open distribution will happen on Tuesday, June 21 and Thursday, June 23. So anybody that didn’t get a fan last year can come and get one. We know people are in need, we know it’s hot, so certainly if you have questions or want to make sure you are eligible you can contact us.”

The Salvation Army is still accepting donations of new box fans.
