BLOOMINGTON – The City of Bloomington’s Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts department will close O’Neil Park’s Skate Park as construction on the new pool project begins.

Starting on Monday, the current skate park will be closed to allow for the removal of the skate ramps.

The new and improved skate park is part of the new O’Neil pool and park project. The tennis courts located near Chestnut Street will be closed a well and become a staging area during construction.

Areas of the park that will not be affected are the softball fields on the north side of O’Neil Park, the playground area across the street from Sheridan Elementary School, and the T-Ball field on the corner of chestnut and hinshaw avenue.

For more information on the park construction, contact the City of Bloomington’s Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department at 309-434-2260, or go online to BloomingtonParks.org.

COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
