SPRINGFIELD – Masks are no longer required on public transportation in Illinois.

In light of Monday’s federal court ruling, Gov. Pritzker is amending a current executive order so that citizens would not have to wear a mask riding public transit, in a transit station or at the airport.

On Tuesday, the governor said people should still do what they feel most comfortable with current COVID-19 conditions.

“We’re going to continue to report on how we’re doing as a state, very importantly so that people can take the mitigation measures home and decide for themselves how they want to operate.”

According to Pritzker, governments may still enact their own rules regarding masking.

Illinois poet Vachel Lindsay…

African-Americans have been killed too many times in the past before George Floyd, but the response to this man’s death is international and all-encompassing. I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

Looking around our community, when we say employer, most will respond to State Farm, Country, or Illinois State University.   We too often forget those who are building our roads, serving our food, or our public employees. COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
