BLOOMINGTON – One of the top leaders in the City of Bloomington has added a national role to his resume.

In November, Bloomington City Manager Tim Gleason was appointed to the National Advisory Committee (NAC) that advises the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

“It’s quite an honor,” City Manager Gleason said in a news release. “I am excited to represent the City of Bloomington in this national spotlight.”

According to a news release, the committee advises the FEMA Administrator on all aspects of emergency management in coordination with state, local, and tribal governments for all hazards.

Gleason will serve multi-year terms to guide recommendations on climate change, readiness, and equity as part of the NAC.

Gleason began his role on December 1.
