MCHD reports 184 new cases of COVID-19 as hospitals near capacity in McLean County

BLOOMINGTON – The McLean County Health Department report 184 new cases of COVID-19 since Friday.

Officials report that 20 McLean County residents are hospitalized due to COVID-19, while 33 people are hospitalized in the county for the virus.

In addition, hospitals are nearing capacity, as 65% of ICU beds and 91% of total beds are in use.

Local officials report that the county’s cumulative positivity rate remained steady at 4.1%, while the rolling 7-day positivity rate remained steady at 3.1%.

MCHD officials report that 470 people are isolated at home, while 23,188 have been released from isolation and recovered.

Meanwhile, approximately 208,135 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the county, and 55.61% of the population are fully vaccinated.

According to the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), 57.23% of Illinois residents are fully vaccinated.

There have been 283 COVID-related deaths in the county.
