MCHD reports 119 new cases of COVID-19; 7-day rolling positivity rate declines

BLOOMINGTON – McLean County Health Department officials report 119 new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend.

The new cases come as 29 people are hospitalized in the county, with 26 of them McLean County residents.

MCHD officials report that hospitals in the twin cities are near capacity as 92% of ICU beds and 95% of total beds are in use.

The county’s cumulative positivity rate remained even at 4.6%, and the county’s 7-day rolling positivity rate declined from 3.7% to 3.0%.

Authorities report 182,737 doses of the vaccine have been administered in the county, and 52.92% of the population are fully vaccinated.

According to the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), 53.88% of Illinois residents are fully vaccinated. A full list of vaccine clinics can be found at health.mcleancounty.org.

There have been 251 COVID-related deaths reported in the county.
