Normal Police officer placed on administrative leave following DUI charge

NORMAL – An officer with the Normal Police Department is on administrative leave following an arrest involving driving under the influence.

Amanda Street, according to McLean County court records, had DUI charges filed against her on April 2 for driving under the influence and driving under the influence with a BAC of .148.

Other charges include disregarding a stop sign and improper lane usage, according to court records.

Normal Police Chief Rick Bleichner said Monday morning Street is employed with the department and “is on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation in the circumstances surrounding the arrest.”
