MCHD reports 31st COVID-related death

BLOOMINGTON – A woman in her 90s has died from COVID-19 complications, according to McLean County health officials.

McLean County Health Department Administrator Jessica McKnight says the woman had underlying health conditions and was associated with a long-term care facility. There have been 31 COVID-related deaths in the county.

Health officials Tuesday announced 23 new coronavirus cases in the county. There are 15 people currently hospitalized and 264 are isolating at home.

51 additional people were released from isolation, now 3,571 residents have recovered. The county’s rolling positivity rate dropped from 3.9% to 3.2%.

Meanwhile, Gov. JB Pritzker says he’s returning to daily COVID-19 press briefings because all regions of the state are moving in the wrong direction. The briefings will be held Monday through Friday.
