MCHD reports 18 new cases of COVID-19

BLOOMINGTON – The McLean County Health Department reports 18 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, bringing the total to 570 cases.

At this time, 102 individuals are isolating at home, and two remain in the hospital. Officials report 451 individuals have been released from isolation and are considered recovered.

There have been 15 COVID-related deaths in McLean County.

More than 26,700 tests have resulted in a cumulative positivity rate of 2.1%. The rolling 7-day positivity rate is 2.0% through yesterday (Monday).

“Everyone is at risk for getting COVID-19 if they are exposed to the virus, but some people are more likely than others to become severely ill,” McLean County Health Department Administrator Jessica McKnight said in a news release. “We are asking that everyone continue to work together to help our community stay safe and well.

Meanwhile, the Illinois Public Health Department reports 1,471 new cases and 19 deaths. The statewide totals increase to 184,712 cases and 7,545 deaths.
