PEORIA – Casinos in Illinois were forced to close in mid-March. Starting July 1, they will be back open with some pretty noticeable changes.

Our news partner HOI ABC reports those changes include reduced capacity up to 50 percent, masks required for both patrons and staff, as well as social distancing between tables and slot machines. Casinos are also expected to have strict cleaning regimens.

“We have an EPA cleaner that we’re using to clean the machines, with a microfiber cloth…we also have extensive after hours cleaning,” said Par-A-Dice Vice President and General Manager Cori Rutherford.

Rutherford said they will also be making sure everyone who walks through their doors is healthy.

“We’re going to make sure that you do not meet any of the criteria for COVID and we’re going to make sure that you’re wearing your mask,” she added.

In order to follow the state-issued guidelines, Rutherford says guests may notice some changes on the boat.

“There will be limited capacity at the table games, we have removed some chairs, and we will make sure that guests are not sitting next to each other,” said Rutherford.

Rutherford says they expect plenty of people to turnout on Wednesday and says they will have staff on standby to not only welcome people back, but also ensure all new rules are followed.

Par-A-Dice reopens Wednesday at 11am. It will then operate at reduced hours 9am-1am Sunday through Thursday and 9am-3am Fridays and Saturdays.
