PONTIAC – The motorcyclist killed in a crash over the weekend has been identified by Livingston County Coroner Danny Watson.

The coroner said Richard Vaughn, 77, of Dwight died in the crash that happened Saturday afternoon at the intersection of U.S. Route 66 and East 1830 North Road, near Pontiac.

Illinois State Police said Tyler Blackard, 20, of Pontiac was driving a white Jeep westbound when he failed to stop at the intersection, crashing into the motorcycle with the front of the vehicle.

Authorities said Blackard was issued citations for failure to yield at a stopped intersection and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash.
