NORMAL – A McLean County jury found a Bollingbrook man guilty last week of sexual assault in a February 2018 incident when the victim reported to be drugged and sexually assaulted.

Michael A. Vegeler, 46, was found guilty on Friday, February 21 on two counts of sexual assault, both Class 1 felonies, according to a release by McLean County State’s Attorney Don Knapp.

The convictions were the result of an investigation that occurred in Normal on February 8 and 9, 2018.

The investigation by a Normal Police Department detective “determined that Vegeler planned and perpetrated these unlawful acts,” Knapp said in the release.

According to McLean County court records, Vegeler was booked on the charges March 23, 2018.
