McLean County man fatally shot in Columbus, Ohio

BLOOMINGTON – A McLean County man has been murdered in Columbus, Ohio.

Columbus Police said in a news release, Zachary Hoeft, 28, was shot in a McDonald’s drive-thru at 1:15 a.m. Wednesday.  An ambulance took Hoeft to an area hospital where he died.

Hoeft is from Bloomington, and attended Normal West High School and Heartland Community College.

Police said they have no suspects and were not able to figure out a motive after their initial investigation.

Hoeft is the 79th homicide victim in Columbus this year.
