WJBC Radio, in conjunction with Meatheads of Bloomington-Normal and Roberts Trophies, is proud to present the WJBC Athletes of the Week.

Grace Ariola – Normal Community Swimming

Grace broke several school records and set pool records in the 50-yard freestyle (22.90 seconds), the 100 backstroke (55.19) and led pool records in the 200-medley relay (1:45.34) and 400-freestyle relay (3:28.38) as the Ironmen won the sectional meet at Normal West.

Sawyer Schlipf – El Paso-Gridley Football

Sawyer scored the Titans’ lone touchdown in a Class 2A quarterfinal loss to GCMS. The game marked EPG’s deepest postseason run in school history.
