BLOOMINGTON – An interim director of the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts will begin his duties next week.
Carl St.Clair of VenuWorks is expected to start at the BCPA on Thursday, April 13. St.Clair has extensive experience in the event industry according to a city release. He retired from VenuWorks, the company that manages the Coliseum, in 2011 as vice president of operations and projects. St.Clair has 50 years of experience in management of convention centers, arenas, fairgrounds and similar facililties.
The contract with VenuWorks for interim management of the BCPA runs through July 29 or until the company or city provide 30 days notice. The agreement may also be extended. VenuWorks will receive $8,500 per month with St.Clair receiving $7,500 of that.
The city will begin the search for a permanent director soon. The position was held by Tina Salamone, who died suddenly last month.
