CHICAGO – U.S. Rep. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.) is pulling away in the polls and fundraising for the moment in her race against incumbent GOP U.S. Sen. Mark Kirk.
Duckworth raised $4.1 million in the most recent quarter and now has $4.3 million cash on hand heading into the final weeks of the race. Kirk has not yet released his fundraising for the three-month period that ended last week.
Duckworth has a 14-point lead over Kirk (48 to 34 percent) in a poll conducted by the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
