BLOOMINGTON – Brian Petersen, 25, will be evaluated by a psychiatrist to see if he is fit to stand trial.
Petersen has been charged with four counts of first degree murder for allegedly stabbing and killing his parents, Bruce and Nancy Petersen, Sunday at their home in rural Bloomington.
State’s Attorney Jason Chambers says after being arrested Brian Petersen told police he murdered his parents.
Petersen is being held on six million dollars bond. Petersen displayed what some described as odd behavior during his bond hearing. Brian Petersen will next appear in court on August 12th.
