A six-win improvement from the 2014-15 season has resulted in Illinois State earning the No. 7 seed in the 2016 Missouri Valley Conference Women’s Basketball Championship, held at the iWireless Center in Moline, Illinois.

The No. 7 seed Redbirds begin tournament action tonight, when they compete in the first round of the 2016 MVC Championship against No. 10 seed Evansville at 7 p.m.,

The winner will play Drake at 6 p.m. Friday in the quarterfinals.

Zach Dietmeier and Taylor Morano will call the action starting at 7 on WJBC 1230 AM, WJBC.com and the WJBC app.

Austin Duncan will host Sportstalk at 6.

Illinois State softball continues its spring break trip by traveling to Louisville for the first of four games at the Louisville Softball Classic. The Redbirds play the host Cardinals in a 4 p.m. first pitch on WJBC.com.

The Bloomington Thunder play the first of back-to-back home games against the Yougnstown Phantoms in a series which was moved up one night because of the Brad Paisley concert at U.S. Ceullular Coliseum on Saturday. The puck drops at 7 p.m. on WJBC.com.
