NORMAL – Unit 5 Board of Education member Denise Schuster has announced she’ll soon be resigning her seat.
Schuster first joined the board in May 2014. She explained the only reason for her resignation is the fact her husband has accepted a job in Dallas and her family will soon be moving as a result.
“The decision for our family is very exciting, but I certainly have enjoyed and appreciate all of the work that I do with the Unit 5 board,” Schuster said.
Schuster added the Unit 5 board works well together.
“That doesn’t mean we always agree, but we very respectfully are able to work through our differences of opinion and bring different perspectives to the table,” said Schuster. “I have learned a lot from working with these individuals.”
Schuster’s official resignation date has yet to be determined. Once the resignation is official, the board will appoint someone to fill the vacancy until the next regular election in April 2017.
