BLOOMINGTON – The Illinois Wesleyan football team started early and never looked back as the Titans rolled the Millikin Big Blue, 54-13 on Saturday.
The win moved the Titans to 5-0 on the season, and 2-0 in CCIW play. Millikin fell to 1-4, 0-2 in the CCIW.
After punting on their first possession of the game, Wesleyan put the ball in the endzone on its next four possessions and would lead at halftime 35-13.
The total yardage was decisively in favor of the Titans as they out gained the Big Blue, 496-139.
IWU QB Jack Warner tossed 5 touchdowns to 5 different teammates while completing 22 of 26 passes for 283 yards. Artie Checchin hauled in 6 receptions for 89 yards and a score to lead the Titans in receiving. Millikin committed 15 penalties for 157 yards. IWU had 11 penalties for 109 yards.
The point total marked the most points a Titan team had scored since Wesleyan beat Elmhurst 57-29 in 2002.
