SPRINGFIELD – Rainy weather pushed the two major cash crops in Illinois last week, according to the USDA crop report.
State statistician Mark Schleusener says corn is 23 percent mature. Soybeans are beginning to drop leaves and turn color. The condition of the crops is, respectively, 70 and 68 percent good to excellent.
An updated yield forecast is due out Friday at 11 a.m.
