Obituary:

NORMAL– Mary L. Mattocks, 89, of Normal, passed away at 12:30 a.m., Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Heritage Health in Normal. 

Her funeral will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington.  Burial will be in Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington.  Visitation will be from 11:00-1:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. 

Memorials may be directed to the Humane Society of Central Illinois. 

Mary was born August 13, 1929 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the daughter of Roy Edward and Bertha Mae Robbins Pickering.  She married Robert T. Ryan.  She later married Paul W. Mattocks on January 2, 1978 in Bloomington.  He died on August 4, 2004. 

Survivors include her children, Gene (Alma) Embry of Bloomington, Chris (Dave) Dunkin of Bloomington, Keith (Gretchen) Embry of Rock Island, Tom (Brenda) Ryan of Hudson, Jessie (Deanine) Mattocks of Wisconsin, Lori Okreglicki of Bloomington, Lisa Weaver of Normal and Danny (Kim) Mattocks of Bloomington; 21 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by a son Tim Ryan, two grandchildren and three brothers. 

Mary was a spot welder for General Electric, where she worked for nearly 30 years.  She was an avid bowler, enjoyed crocheting, listening to music, sitting on her front porch, but mostly spending time with family.  She will be dearly missed.
