BLOOMINGTON – State Farm has hired a local contractor to remove the exterior signage from its downtown Bloomington location.
The insurer’s building at 112 East Washington Street will have exterior signage taken down by contractor P.J. Hoerr Inc.
“While we continue to actively search for a buyer, we wanted to save some items of historical interest related to the building…the signage is one of those items,” said State Farm spokesman Jim Camoriano in an e-mail earlier Monday.
Removal of the “State Farm Insurance” red letters should begin within the next two weeks and could take approximately 30 days, weather permitting.
State Farm hopes to work with the downtown business community to minimize interruptions, including impact to traffic flow.
