McLean County woman dead after Monday afternoon home fire

DANVERS – A McLean County woman died in a house fire Monday afternoon.

According to a news release, authorities responded to Dry Grove Township around 3:30 p.m.

Once on the scene, firefighters found a woman inside the home.

Authorities removed the woman, but efforts to resuscitate her were not successful.

In addition, a McLean County Sheriff’s Deputy was evaluated after the incident from smoke inhalation during the rescue.

The McLean County Sheriff’s Office, McLean County Coroner’s Office, Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Office, and the Danvers Fire Department are investigating the incident.
