BREAKING NEWS:Hostage situation on W. Locust in Bloomington comes to an end

(UPDATE 12:24 pm):  According to our news partner WMBD, a man by the name Cody Powell has been taken into custody.  It is said that Powell will receive a medical evaluation.  The child who was held hostage is reported to be safe.

(UPDATE 5:37 pm)BREAKING NEWS: Bloomington Police confirm a five hour standoff in the 1400 Block of W. Locust has ended peacefully. Everyone is out of the house and all are safe. More information as it becomes available.

Apossible hostage situation happening  in the 1400 block of W. Locust

Bloomington police are not releasing information but sources are saying the situation started just after noon and it involves a man reportedly holding a child hostage.

BPD along with state and county authorities are on the scene attempting to make contact with anyone inside the home.
