Injury-riddled Redbird women pull away from Austin Peay

NORMAL – Despite playing only seven Redbirds due to injuries, Illinois State women’s basketball held Austin Peay to a single point in the final six and a half minutes in a 61-49 win on Tuesday night at Redbird Arena.

Simone Goods led the Redbirds with 22 points while equaling a career-high 14 rebounds for the second straight game. TeTe Maggett played all 40 minutes and added 17 points.

Brianah Ferby led Austin Peay (4-5) with 10 points.

Illinois State (3-4) won its second consecutive contest and visits Northern Kentucky on Friday evening. Tip is at 6 p.m. Central with pre-game at 5:50 on AM 1230 WJBC and WJBC.com.
