Richards named to Pritzker veterans committee

BLOOMINGTON – After losing in the race for McLean County clerk, Nikita Richards will join Governor-elect J.B. Pritzker’s team on the Serving Illinois’ Heroes Committee.

At a press conference Monday, Pritzker announced the 19-member committee which will advise him on veteran issues. Its chaired by U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth, D-Ill, Secretary of State Jesse White, and State Rep. David Harris.

A Democrat from Bloomington, Richards lost in the election for McLean County clerk to incumbent Republican Kathy Michael.

Richards is a Navy veteran and currently works as an employment coordinator for the City of Bloomington.
