Jacobs named Country Financial CEO

BLOOMINGTON – Country Financial has named its top attorney as the Bloomington-based company’s next chief executive officer.

Jim Jacobs has served as general counsel, secretary and chief legal officer since 2008. Jacobs was in the Illinois Farm Bureau’s legal office for three years before assuming that role. He was a litigation attorney for 14 years in Louisiana before joining the Illinois Farm Bureau.

Jacobs holds a law degree from Wake Forest University and a bachelor of science degree from the University of Evansville. He is a board member for Special Olympics of Illinois and has served as a tutor for STAR Literacy and on the board of directors for Heartland Head Start.

Jacobs will succeed Kurt Bock, who is retiring at the end of January after serving as Country’s CEO for seven years.
