STANFORD – Olympia has a new football coach. The school board has hired Bloomington assistant coach Eric Lyons.
Lyons has been on the BHS staff the last two years after serving as Morton’s head coach for three years, where he compiled a 5-22 record. Lyons has previously served as an assistant coach at Normal Community and U-High.
Lyons replaces Mike Rathbun who stepped down after back-to-back winless seasons. He led the Spartans to the playoffs in 2014 and compiled a 15-48 record in seven seasons.
