Secretary of State White supports DACA suit against Trump

SPRINGFIELD – Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White is announcing his support of Attorney General Lisa Madigan’s joint lawsuit against President Trump in his attempt to rescind the DACA program for young undocumented immigrants. Madigan joined 15 of her attorney general colleagues in the lawsuit.

White said DACA program “dreamers are displaying the values that we in the United States consider so important: getting an education, working hard, raising families and contributing to their communities.”

White noted that dreamers receive background checks, attend colleges and universities, have work authorizations and serve in the United States military.
