BLOOMINGTON – The McLean County Clerk has set aside three days next month to conduct a discovery recount in the hotly contested race for Normal’s mayor.

Incumbent Chris Koos led by just 11 votes over Marc Tiritilli after absentee and provisional ballots were counted.

Tiritilli has selected the seven Normal precincts to be examined, which is a quarter of all the precincts. Tiritilli claims there were almost 100 ‘under’ or ‘over’ votes, which may or may not have been counted for a variety of reasons.

County Clerk Kathy Michael scheduled the partial recount for May 9-11, with the expectation the process might take several days.

Illinois poet Vachel Lindsay…

I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

Looking around our community, when we say employer, most will respond to State Farm, Country, or Illinois State University.   We too often forget those who are building our roads, serving our food, or our public employees. COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
