WASHINGTON – As the line of patients waiting to get care at Veterans Affairs hospitals grows, U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis’ patience is wearing thin.
Davis said he’s close to calling for new U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Bob McDonald to resign, just months after the took over the system which has been under fire for long delays in getting care to veterans.

“He needs to make structural changes now,” Davis said. “It’s not a funding issue. We have given them billions more than they have asked for to address this problem.”
Davis told WJBC’s Scott Laughlin the intent of VA Choice was to stop clogging VA hospitals and enabling them to focus on their area of expertise – treating traumatic brain injuries.
“The problem is, I shouldn’t have 100 veterans having to call me,” Davis said. “The problem is not the caregivers at our facilities. The problem is the upper level management.”
Davis said McDonald has personally assured him problems at the VA will be fixed.
