SPRINGFIELD– Due to Hurricane Harvey, the Illinois Department of Revenue is making some adjustments. IDOR is temporarily suspending the International Fuel Tax Agreement registration as well as the Motor Fuel Use Tax for qualified illinois vehicles engaged in disaster relief efforts in Texas and Louisiana.
IDOR specifically cites operators of qualified vehicles responding to power, communications, and infrastructure restoration in those states affected. The suspension will also extend to motor vehicles delivering goods and services and food for people and livestock in the affected areas.
IDOR Officials say the waiver will be effective from August 25th through September 24th, 2017.
