Gibson City man pleads guilty to sexual assault charges

BLOOMINGTON – A Gibson City man who was arrested in Normal on sexual assault charges in May has pleaded guilty.

Courtney Rockwell, 27, reached a plea agreement in McLean County court this week. He pleaded guilty to a felony count of criminal sexual assault.

Police had received a complaint that Rockwell had inappropriately touched a child who was younger than 13, about a year ago in Normal.

Rockwell faces up to 30 years in prison when he is sentenced on Oct. 23. He is being held in the McLean County Jail as he awaits sentencing.
