NORMAL – Illinois State University has again been ranked among the Best Bang for the Buck Colleges in the Midwest category of the Washington Monthly College Rankings.

Washington Monthly: The Other College Guide ranks institutions based on which schools will charge a fair price, help students graduate and provide a marketable degree.

ISU came in at 14, getting its best marks for graduates’ earning performance and loan repayment rates

“Illinois State University continues to provide an excellent education at an affordable cost,” said ISU President Larry Dietz. “At least one-third of our students graduate debt-free, because of the University’s investment in scholarship and grant programs and the generosity of our alumni and other donors. We are in the top 10 percent of graduation rates in the nation, and on average, our students earn $10,000 more per year than other college graduates within 10 years of enrolling at ISU.”

Illinois Wesleyan ranked No. 144 in the study.

Illinois poet Vachel Lindsay…

African-Americans have been killed too many times in the past before George Floyd, but the response to this man’s death is international and all-encompassing. I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
