NORMAL – A Twin Cities non-profit is doing what it can to help those affected by Tropical Storm Harvey.
The Normal Midwest Food Bank has rallied over 200 volunteers in an effort to pack boxes full of food and necessities. The Salvation Army asked that they send two more semi-truck loads following the two previous that were already sent.
Houston resident and volunteer Tim Fisher explained this is his family’s way of feeling less helpless.
“So we’re back for a family event and then, we like to say stuck, not stranded, because we’re here with family and needed to do something. Needed to find a way to be able to help out,” said Fisher.
The boxes will go to families in Houston so they have what they need to get through this crisis.
