BLOOMINGTON – Central Illinois Regional Airport has landed a new tenant.
Dumont Aviation, an upstart Deleware-based aviation maintenance company, plans to move into the former Platinum Jet Center and Image Jet Center site west of the airport.
“(It’s) kind of like FedEx (Express) location here. Our location, our facility, what we have on our field were an attractant,” CIRA spokeswoman Fran Streibing said. “We are excited they are going to bring new activity to the airport.”
Streibing told WJBC’s Scott Laughlin, Dumont will start with about a dozen employees.
Dumont, which went in business in 2013, offers maintenance and management support for charter flights and private aircraft.
“They wanted a central location for their customers to be able to come to,” Streibing said.
Dumont has grown to 80 employees in the two years it’s been in business.
