BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington Fire Chief Brian Mohr will outline the department’s plans to try to reduce response times Monday during a presentation at a City Council Committee of the Whole meeting.
The fire department has raised the idea of building a new fire station on the city’s northeast side where response times for fire and emergency calls have posed the biggest challenge. The department is still short of reaching a six-minute response time for 90 percent of its calls, which is a performance standard set by the National Fire Protection Association.
The meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at City Hall. The city council is not expected to take any action.
The committee is also scheduled to review its five-year capitol improvement plan and get an update on priority-based budgeting.
