2nd ISU men’s basketball assistant coach headed to Michigan

NORMAL – A second assistant coach on Dan Muller’s Illinois State men’s basketball staff is leaving to take a job at Michigan.

Multiple media reports say Luke Yaklich is joining John Beilein’s staff at Michigan, just days after new ISU assistant Deandre Haynes accepted an assistant’s job with the Big Ten school.

Yalkich joined the coaching staff at ISU in 2013 after 14 years as a teacher and coach at Joliet West and had been promoted to associate head coach.

Haynes had joined ISU’s staff in May after working last season as an assistant coach at Toledo.

Muller has denied comment as Michigan hasn’t anncounced the hirings.
