Caterpillar streamlining application process at Pontiac

PONTIAC – With the recent expansion of Caterpillar’s Pontiac operation and the new jobs that are available, its human resources department is attempting to streamline its application process.

Human Resources Manager Kevin Cramer said they want to make it as easy as possible for people to get a job at CAT.

“Since all of our applicants must apply online, sometimes a person may need some additional assistance, mainly in the area of helping set up their user name or password, but also sometimes navigating the system to find those Caterpillar jobs for the Pontiac facility,” Cramer said. “So, anyone who shows up Wednesday will be greeted by an HR representative and will take them to the computer lab and give them detailed, hands-on instructions on how to apply online. So, before someone leaves the facility that day, we’ll help them apply online and also give them a heads up on the application process and hiring process.”

Opportunities are from 4 to 6 p.m. every Wednesday in July. People are asked to enter at Gate 1 to check in.
