Man arrested after attempted Bloomington break-in

BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington Police have arrested a man from Normal who allegedly tried to break into an apartment early Sunday morning.

Police were called to the apartment in the 1800 block of W. Olive St. for a report of a man with a handgun trying to enter through a window. Police say they arrested Osman McLaurin, 20, after a short foot chase.

Police also say a stolen handgun was located near the spot McLaurin was arrested.

Anyone with information is asked to call Bloomington Police at 434-2548 or Crimestoppers at 828-1111.
