BLOOMINGTON – A Bloomington man faces attempted murder charges after he allegedly broke into a home, shot a man and robbed the home.
Bloomington Police said three men faked a pizza delivery to force their way inside the home in the 1500 block of Julie Drive last November.
A women who lives there told police a man pushed a pistol into a pillow held against her head and ordered her to call her husband while two other men were pillaging through the home looking for money. She was then restrained with duct tape and forced into the trunk of her vehicle in the garage.
When the husband arrived, the gunman shot him in the leg and hit him in the head with the gun. The victim then deflected another shot as the gunman raised the weapon toward him again. The men then fled the scene.
Illinois State Police identified fingerprints on the pizza box belonging to 39-year-old Alfred Walker. The victims also identified him as the robber. Walker has also been charged with home invasion, armed robbery and aggravated discharge of a firearm. He has been jailed on a $1 million bond.
Walker is scheduled to face an arraignment on July 7.
