Police arrest suspect accused of attacking woman near Downtown Bloomington

BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington Police have arrested a local man for allegedly robbing and beating a woman early Friday morning near downtown Bloomington.

Police said Daniel Orrick, 32, stole undisclosed personal belongings from the woman in the 200 block of E. Washington St. about 1:20 a.m. She reportedly freed herself after biting the attacker.

Orrick allegedly hit the woman and knocked her to the ground before running away.

Police have booked him for robbery and aggravated battery, but they’re still investigating the case. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Tim Power at 309-434-2379 or McLean County Crimestoppers at 309-828-1111.
