Gibson City man accused of sexually abusing child in Normal

NORMAL – Normal Police detectives have arrested a Gibson City man in a year-old child sexual abuse case.

Courtney Rockwell, 27, is charged with predatory criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse after police said they received a complaint that Rockwell inappropriately touched a child, younger than 13, about a year ago in Normal.

“Based on the age of the victim, the Normal Police Department will not release additional information concerning this case,” the department said in a news release.

“There is no public safety concern regarding this incident,” the release also said.

Rockwell is being held in the McLean County Jail on $50,000 bond.
