Normal Police respond fatal crash on Veterans Parkway

NORMAL – The Normal Police Department responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian crash shortly after 8:20 p.m. last night.

Witnesses reported the pedestrian entered the roadway and was struck by a single vehicle traveling south on Veterans Parkway, just south of Shepard Road. Normal Fire Department also responded and it was determined that the 50 year old male from Bloomington had suffered a serious traumatic injury. Representatives from the McLean County Coroner’s office responded to the scene and pronounced the pedestrian dead at 9:19 p.m.

The incident remains under investigation b the Normal Police Department and the McLean County Coroner’s office. The name of the pedestrian is being withheld pending fuhrer notification of family.
