BLOOMINGTON – Connect Transit’s Board of Trustees announced this week it plans to appoint Isaac Thorne as interim general manager.
Thorne, who is currently the agency’s Chief Operating Officer, will fill the void when Andrew Johnson leaves for his new position in Champaign. Thorne said he’s honored the board has selected him.
“Over the next couple of months we’ll be working on the budget for next fiscal year. That’s kind of the priority right now,” said Thorne. “We’ll also going to be undertaking a strategic planning process that’ll provide a vision for Connect Transit over the next three to five years.”
Thorne added he does intend to apply for the permanent position.
The board plans to vote on appointing Thorne as interim GM later this month.
