BLOOMINGTON – A senior community is helping a kids agency.
After updating its transportation fleet, Westminster Village has donated one of the buses being replaced to the Boys and Girls Club of Bloomington-Normal. Club CEO Tony Morstatter said students usually arrive on District 87 and Unit 5 buses, but getting the students home has taken awhile because of the club’s limited number of vehicles.
“Towards the end of the evening, we have special events that may be going on or just a need to get our kids back home safely,” Morstatter said. “We’ve had a need for a while, and we’re fortunate that Westminster has been so gracious.”
Westminster CEO Barb Nathan serves on the Boys and Girls Club board, which is how she learned of the need. Westminster detailed the bus, replaced the seat belts and wrapped it with the Boys and Girls Club logo before presenting it Thursday afternoon.
