ISU football recruit charged with rape

NORMAL – An Illinois State football recruit has been arrested on rape charges in Jefferson City, Mo.

KMIZ-TV reported Rashaun Woods was arrested for three counts of first degree rape or attempted rape and one count of first degree sodomy or attempted sodomy.

Woods allegedly assaulted two victims on separate occasions in the last several months. ISU announced this week the Jefferson City native had committed to the school.

Illinois State officials said they are aware of the situation and are awaiting more information.
